In a Grain of Sand

We found this snail shell on our balcony.

It reminded me of the wonderful book “In a Grain of Sand” by Andreas Feininger.

Recently, I read in “Die ZEIT” that beauty seems to be some kind of a basic need of humans.

I think, beauty is immanent to nature.

A snail’s shell
A bird’s plummage
Leaves of a fern

Even in death and decay there is beauty, as shown in these posts:

Dead Tree

Scull of a wild boar

Autumn leaves and cobweb

So, what do you think? :-)
